COMPASSION
To experience compassion it is necessary to allow your focus of attention to move from your thinking to your heart. This helps you to disengage from the noise in your head and the world around you and become more aware of what’s going on inside your body. t helps if you breathe more slowly, say 6 breaths a minute, to relax mind and body.
You can then focus attention on your whole body, with a genuine desire to care, appreciate and gratitude for everything you see and feel. This starts your journey towards a compassionate mindset. Compassion should not be confused with sympathy where you seek to imagine how the other person might be thinking and feeling. Empathy goes beyond sympathy where you actually feel the suffering they are experiencing, from our own psychological and emotional experience.
Compassion exists when you want to interact snd something to alleviate the hurt and distress being experienced by others. You want to find or help create a sustainable solution to their pain. Seen from a spiritual perspective, compassion is the force that connects people with each other and nature. It’s seen as a force of nature and an emotional experience.
“I truly believe that compassion provides the basis of human survival.” – Dalai Lama
