RESIGNATION

This is the result of a judgment we make when we feel that nothing new is possible. People displaying resignation tend to withhold commitment and stake out a small, controllable territory to live in.  Often referred to as a “comfort zone”. As a mood, resignation can often be difficult to spot because it is covered by a thin veneer of optimism. When faced with the opportunity to change they look for ways to justify why it is not appropriate for them and may be harmful.

Change can be seen as a good thing for others, but not themselves. They can criticise others but are happy for them to take responsibility on their behalf.  In other words, in a mood of resignation people lack ambition because they cannot accept that they are in a mood of resignation.
