SELF-EXPRESSION
To move from self-inquiry to self- expression we need to articulate the story behind the emotion. For example, in the case of feeling sad, you could ask: What exactly are you sad about? What you think you have or could lose? What leads you to believe that? What value did it have for you? How could you lessen or recover from the impact of the loss? What could you do to feel at peace? The natural cycle is to get stirred up (to feel it) and then move on (leave it). David Viscott observed that “If you lived honestly, your life would heal itself and you would receive peace of mind, good health, and acceptance of who you are.”
