TRANSFORMING TENDENCY
The concept of conserving tendencies is about keeping what matters to you, whereas the transforming tendencies want to change what needs to be adapted or sustained. It is found in the conversations that are part of the “medium” we use to relate to our environment and other people. We reject embrace thoughts and ideas that excite us or threaten us so they can be explored and the risks assessed. Making a distinction between what is not me and what could be “me”.
This way we are “structurally coupled” with each other to ensure that we can maintain our independence and autonomy as a viable human being. We retain our identity as we continuously adapt to environmental changes. As a result, we live in conversations as a vehicle for languaging the creation of reality. Emotioning also plays a central role in the coordination of action that enables us to participate in and make sense of our environment. It depends on what we sense, observe and trust not to threaten our survival.
